Artwork requirements for Screen Printing
Vector Graphics?
Vector graphics are composed in programs like Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Macromedia Freehand or Inkscape.
- Be sure to back-up your original file or make the following changes to a copy of that original file.
- Resize your image to the size you want on your t-shirt. Your image must be 100% to print size.
Max Adult Image Size (Front or Back) is 40cm(W) X 50cm(H).
- It is important to convert fonts to curves or create outlines for all text used. Otherwise send us a copy of the type font (TTF).
- If the file contains spot colours these MUST be colour separated, each layer identified as a Pantone PMS colour swatch if the colour is critical, or each layer should be named as the colour required.
- Where halftone images, blends or rastor files are part of the artwork they should run from 5% minimum colour to 80% maximum colour. It is important to include all imbedded/Photoshop images with Illustrator files.
- For 4 colour process printing. Convert your image to CMYK. Remove any background layers. Flatten your image. Our sofware will separate the colours into CMYK
- For Spot colour printing. Remove any background layers. Leave only your separated colours as layers. Fill each layer with 100% black (Pantone Black). For multipule colours, make sure each separated layer has the spot colour name as the layer name.
- Adobe Illustrator CS3 is our prefered file type. All other programs should be saved as a .EPS file.
