Screen printing is the industry standard for garment decoration, and it is what we have done here since 2006. That does not make it the right method for your job.
Screen printing is not the best way to print a t-shirt. It is the best way to print a lot of t-shirts at the same time. Every part of the process follows from that, including the setup, the pricing and the things it cannot do.
Your decision really comes down to one question: does your order sit above or below the quantity where the maths makes it affordable?
Here is where that line sits, what we need from you before a press can run, and what to use instead when your job lands on the wrong side of it.
We screen print orders of 25 units and up. Below that, we will point you at a different method, usually DTG or digital transfers, because screen printing would cost you more and serve you worse.
That number is not arbitrary, and it is not a sales filter. It stems from how the process is built.
Every colour in your design needs its own screen. A screen gets coated with emulsion, exposed against a film positive of your artwork, washed out, dried, mounted on the carousel, then aligned against every other screen in the job. All of that happens before the first shirt is printed, and it costs the same whether you are printing 25 shirts or 2,500.
Once the press is running, the printing time is relatively quick. Almost all of your money is sitting in that setup, and the only thing that brings the cost per shirt down is dividing the setup across more shirts.
Screen printing does not get cheaper per shirt because we discount it. It gets cheaper because the setup is already paid for.
*25 is the minimum depending on the number of colours in the design. If the design has lots of colours, the minimum could be much higher compared to the price of other print methods. Send us your design, and we will recommend the best print method for your job.

The number of colours is important because screen printing uses screens with an image stencilled into it, like shown in the diagram, to apply that image to the t-shirt.
