Simulated process printing is a unique method of screen printing and film separation that helps create highly detailed custom designs and photo realistic images without using standard CMYK full colour separation.
Considered to be an advanced screen printing method, Sim Process, as it is often referred to, uses a white under base and a combination of opaque pantone colours to produce a full colour image with a reduced number of actual colours.
This is done through the use of half-tones and by using a technique known as blending using 2 or more colours to produce an illusion of more.
This method is similar to traditional 4 colour CMYK process printing but differs through the ability to use unlimited colours and because the inks are solid opaque usually printed on dark fabrics.
It is important to note that this method is well known for producing a superior clean and crisp finish when compared to traditional print methods, and the use of Plastisol Ink is essential water based inks are redundant for Sim Process.
